One of the misconceptions of living in the South, especially in Greenville,  that drives me insane,  is that we are a fashion inept society.  Indeed it is true, you can step out your front door and see a fashion mishap of poodle hair and suntan hosiery, or possibly even, gasp.... a mullet or two,  but for the most part, us Carolina Girls adore fashion and find it a personal goal to stay in the moment of style. Therefore, I have personally made it a point, here at Whimsically Chic, to  keep us South Carolinian's in the fashion know how and move us fashion forward.  Each season we scour the market, fashion magazines, websites, designers and blogs to find this seasons trends.  So.... when you see W.C., know that we have made it a personal vendetta to keep our customers engulfed in chic style with the added touch of whimsy.

The "Nichols Me Whimsy" Straw Tote

Congratulations to Andi Nichols for winning the "Perfect Whimsy Tote" contest.   Introducing the "Nichols Me Whimsy Bag". The behind the scenes on this bag is a great story.  I love, love, love to find unusual bags.  It has, more or less,  been a hobby of mine for some time.  As I was surfing the web, scouring magazines and hitting favorite boutiques,  I ran across a similar bag online.  I instantly fell in love with it.  I ordered it immediately.  The company said they are custom made so allow 4 weeks delivery.  I was so excited.  The difference,  my bag was to the tune of $240!!!!!  When I received my package it was indeed beautiful, but my first thought was "oh Tracey, you and I can so make this and make it more affordable".  So.....  we started searching and finally found a wonderful man in Indonesia who hand makes our straw bags, ships them to us and Whimsically Chic does the rest.  All for the much LOWER cost of $55.00 for our Medium bag and $65.00 for our large.  I actually like the Whimsically Chic style so much better I started carrying ours and haven't carried the $240.00 bag since.  We bought 40 of the straw bags and sold out of them within weeks. As the frigid air begins to fade, the light continues into evening and our hearts long for warm weather, we women begin to conjure ideas of the perfect essential summer ware in our "oh so ready" warm weather minds.  Each year at Whimsically Chic, we search high and low for Original, seasonal chic items with just a touch of whimsy for our beloved customers. We love to name these items as our favs and as the perfect essetial pieces for the season.  This year we have decided to ask you and let you decide the perfect essential summer bag, "Our Whimsy Summer Tote".   For the next seven days we are going to let you, our fellow whimsies, choose your choice as our fav summer bag.
